Project Description
LEGACY 53
In anticipation of 2019’s big game, the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee created the Legacy 53 project to celebrate and elevate Atlanta’s communities. Its mission was to leave a positive impact on the city long after the final play of the game, and its multi-platformed approach was bolstered by five key pillars: Business Connect, a Capital Improvement Project, Civil Rights and Social Justice, Sustainability, and Youth Engagement.
PROJECT INFORMATION
As part of their community and youth engagement initiative, Legacy 53 and its partners invested in the reconstruction of John F. Kennedy Park. The team converted it into a versatile playing field for competition, exercise and outdoor activities on the city’s Westside. The park has a full-sized turf playing surface, playground, exercise system, basketball court, walking path, picnic pavilion and more. Our team completed the walkway and pavilion lighting in under two months to ensure an on-time opening for the big game. We are so proud to be a part of this legacy to create a safe space for the neighborhood youth and community members.
